Senator Looking Forward to Next Six Weeks

Senator Daniel K. Akaka reiterated today that he is looking forward to continuing his campaign to be returned to the United States Senate.

??€œWe??€™ve just come off a tremendous effort and victory in Saturday??€™s primary election and I intend to run the same sort of campaign heading into the general election,??€ ? Akaka said.

??€œI want to thank the voters of Hawaii for their support and let them know that we will continue talking and listening to them on the important issues of the day. I do believe that there are clear differences between my general election opponent and me, particularly when it comes to questioning the direction in which the Bush Administration has taken our country,??€ ? Akaka added. ??€œWe??€™ll be talking about those issues in the coming weeks and will be working hard across the state.??€ ?
